The Pop Up Park was a community led initiative to Connect the Heart of Point Cook, a community of over 50000 people and one of the fasted growing suburbs in Australia. It’s location in the restaurant precinct was intended to create a focal point where people could meet, enjoy time together and get to know one another. The pilot ran from 25th Feb – 15 Apr 2018.
Over 30000 people visited and currently there is a petition with over 3500 people asking for it to be a permanent community park in the heart of the town centre.
The team continue to work in the background with the learnings from the pilot to explore future options with the stakeholders for phase 2.
