So we have been busy:
The Victorian Government were actively seeking input into the Victorian Social Enterprise strategy last year and a few BizBuddies had input into the recently launched Social Enterprise Strategy. We continue to talk to the State government and other stakeholders with a view to establishing a Social Enterprise hub here in Wyndham.
We have had a lot of requests from BizBuddies for a Business expo, We think this is a great way to showcase the talent in Wyndham and are busy fleshing out the details for an inaugural “Wyndham Business Expo” – which we hope will become an annual event – We know this is a great way to build B2B relationships and showcase the amazing array of talent that exist in Wyndham across all types of business, services and talents in the local area. We are shortly going to put out a “save the date” but see this happening most likely in August or early September. If you want to contribute to this amazing initiative please contact us
On another note I have been confirmed as a committee member on the Wyndham Council Future Focused Economy Portfolio. This is chaired by Councillor Walter Villagonzalo and we will meet regularly to have input into the city strategy. I hope to be able to be a conduit between community needs and council deliverables. So feedback from you is welcome and important on this journey of building the economy of the future.
We have run several events this past month but 2 notable ones have been our coworking days at Arndell Park Community Centre and our very first coworking day (in conjunction with Jane Del Rosso Food Network lunch) at Emporio Lounge and Grill in Point Cook. This will become a monthly calender event, so book in now for the next one. We are very pleased to advise that Emporio Lounge and Grill has become coworking friendly. So you can work there 10am to 5pm Tuesday to Friday.
If you have a space that you would like to become coworking friendly or you would like to host coworking days in your local area – we can help you please get in touch
We need talented local interns who have an interest in events, marketing and communications, project management and IT systems and development. We also have lots of BizBuddies across a broad spectrum of professions and skills. So, if you know of young locals who are looking to build their skillset and practical experience, make local connections and it fits in well with their current studies we would love to help “buddy” them up. After all that is what we are all about.
We live local, work local, shop local – and we collaborate global, if you like what we are about we would love to chat with you – please get in touch.
