ORGANISATIONAL BACKGROUND:

BizBuddyHub has evolved from its early roots of pop-up coworking and advocating for a mixed used Hub in Wyndham to a membership organisation with an ethos around building local economy and social cohesion via an online platform and physical events centred around collaboration, shared resources, spaces and energy.

BizBuddyHub aspires to be the supermarket of everything local, bringing together all local stakeholders in a collaborative way and provides tools such as the business listings, events, blog and collaboration tools as well as an e-commerce marketplace ability for its members to utilise to further grow and expand their existing reach for their products, services, events etc.

The model is designed to build a strong vertical in each aspect of the economy e.g. Trades, Makers, Foodies, Services etc., and then support those verticals through a Team of Skilled Associates and Ambassadors who can Tender for and Scope bigger pieces of work and project manage collaborative projects for the local membership.

The model also is intended to have a public facing aspect that encourages locals to search local and buy local first. The collaborative member-2-member back end allows the membership to have access to each other as well as set up events, private groups by topic and private collaborations, to share files and tasks and communicate easily with collaborators within one platform.

The tag line Live Local, Work Local, Shop Local – Collaborate Global reflects the ethos and the vision for the community and for BizBuddyHub as a whole.

POSITION SUMMARY:

At present, there are several requirements – so we can accommodate up to 5 interns at a time.

The platform project needs:

The marketing plan needs:

  • Development of the plan
  • Implementation of all channels and a marketing calendar
  • Measurement measures

The Events pipeline needs:

  • Mapping out of all existing and new events both hosted and supported by BizBuddyHub
  • Assisting with The Wyndham Business Expo (planned 1st week Sept) in conjunction with key local stakeholders.
  • Creating tools and templates, communication strategies and processes to assist the programs to continue and repeat

The overall BizBuddyHub Growth Strategy needs:

A strategic thinking and process driven individual to help map the wins and successes and roadmap to scale BizBuddyHub and its USP across outer metro Australia – this is high level work requiring:

  • Research
  • Stakeholder engagement
  • Assessing value to the membership (case studies)
  • Assessing value to the local economy
  • Assessing value to community and social cohesion
  • Identifying growth and engagement opportunities

Interns will either be working with myself as the founder or with highly skilled BizBuddyHub Associates who are marketers, IT specialists, Event Planners, Project Managers etc. They will be exposed to all sorts of stakeholders in the local area and within government and other like-minded organisations

PROJECT AIMS:

The overall project aims to engage students who have access to skills and training with real world issues and the building of a new and innovative enterprise from the ground up that exists to build a better local model, grow local economy and social cohesion through collaborative energy.

KEY ACTIVITIES the student will be involved in:

Member Liaison

Event Planning and coordination

Building and executing marketing, operational and project plans

Troubleshooting and refining and documenting the systems

QUALIFICATIONS/ RELEVANT EXPERIENCE:

Community Work

Working towards a marketing, project management, IT dev Degree or post grad studies with an interest in the Future of Work
